Workshop hours are 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, followed by a local health fair from 1 pm to 2:30 pm.  Location is the Littlestown Library, 232 N. Queen Street, Littlestown PA 17340, phone (717) 359-0446.  Pre-registration is required.

The workshop‘s goals are a) to increase awareness of disaster response and emergency support services in Adams County, and b) to introduce how an emergency/disaster plan helps reduce risk and increase safety of homebound individual(s) during local disasters.

The workshop is sponsored by the Adams County Library System, and supported by a grant from the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Mid Atlantic Region.  It is free and primarily for Adams County residents, but all are invited.

With morning and early afternoon sessions, the workshop starts at 8.30 am and closes by 2:30 pm..  The morning program is a panel discussion by members of emergency management, healthcare and local social services agencies, followed by an overview of disaster preparation and planning The afternoon program is a ‘health fair’ where local agency representatives and attendees can meet, visit and share information about health and Adams County support services for the homebound community.
